Santa Claus jr. brings happy news!
We are delighted to share with our american family the news that Lukas is expecting a norwegian couisin. Mette and Pål are having a baby and their due date is the 12th of august. Lukas is so looking forward to a new norwegian family-member around his size.
Congratulations Mette and Pål!
Update on development
Every day with Lukas is an exciting search for new happenings. The last couple of days he has started to interact with his surroundings and he has started to really look. He checks out the "dingeling" is father has made for him and also studies his grandfather. Yesterday he finally enjoyed a bath and everyday he smiles more and more. He is still growing and today was his last day in his jeansoverall size 50. Too small, looked like a shorts!
Thoughts from Grandma Judy
Lukas was 6 weeks old when Grandparents Judy and Bill visited him for the first time. We saw his first smile and each day he seemed to grow and change. He was with us when we visited Lene, Mette and Paul and Anna for an evening of wonderful food, wine and conversation. Lukas slept most of the time. Lukas climbed with us to the top of the "ski jump" in Oslo. He dined with us and Anders and Turid at a restuarant that some day he must visit when he can eat the delicious reindeer that we all enjoyed. We are now home in the United States and think of Lukas and his parents every day. We will see them again in Spain.
Grandparents Bill and Judy returned to New Jersey on January 16 with many wonderful memories from meeting Lukas's Norwegian family.
6 week check-up
Today Lukas visited a nice doctor who checked his ability to focus, the movement of his hips, hearing, weight, size-of-head and overall condition. He was perfect! He is smiling more every day and is still a ravenous little eater. He even likes cod-liver oil. His weight is now 4575 gram. Lukas enjoyed the visit from his lovely american grand-parents and sends a kiss to everybody across the atlantic and says thank you for all the nice presents. Kiss to everyone in Norway as well.
Visit by grandparents
This weekend Lukas grandparents from New Jersey has been visting Lukas, Steve, Marit and Marit's family in Oslo. On Saturday Turid and I took them to
Holmenkollen and later on to
Frognerseteren for the famous "apple cake". On Sunday we had dinner at
Vertshuset Bærums verk, and later on tea, coffe and cakes in our house at Blommenholm, just outside Oslo. Lukas behaved like an angel, he likes to be the midpoint as the pivtures shows.
Lukas one month
Yesterday our son turned one month and he has already developed and experienced a lot. Some days ago he was screaming a lot, and now we believe it was because he was super-hungry. He has gained 1200 gram! since his birth and is now 4310 which is the average. The past days he has been the sweetest boy and we are sure he is already smiling. He likes to dance to Eminem.
Grandparents arriving
Grandparents Bill & Judy from New Jersey are going to arrive in Oslo on January 12 and are very excited in anticipation of meeting Lukas and the rest of his family for the first time.
